Imam Khalid Latif
Executive Director, ICNYU ChaplainImam Khalid Latif is a University Chaplain for New York University, and Executive Director of the Islamic Center at NYU (ICNYU). Under his leadership, ICNYU became the first ever established Muslim student center at an institution of higher education in the United States. Imam Latif’s exceptional dedication and ability to cross interfaith and cultural lines on a daily basis brought him recognition throughout New York City, so much so that in 2007, Mayor Michael Bloomberg nominated Imam Latif to become the youngest chaplain in history of the New York City Police Department at the age of 24. Most recently, Imam Latif was selected as one of 60 New York City leaders to serve on Mayor Bill de Blasio’s transition team, helping to recommend and select individuals for key roles in the current NYC administration and was also appointed to a “Task Force to Combat Hate” by NYC Public Advocate Letitia James to deal with the rise in Islamophobic, antisemitic, and anti-Sikh sentiment in NYC.
Imam Omer Bajwa
Chaplain and Director of Muslim Life at Yale UniversityImam Omer Bajwa is the "Coordinator of Muslim Life" in the Chaplain's Office at Yale University. He earned his Graduate Certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy from Hartford Seminary, and he has been engaged in religious service, social activism, and educational outreach since 2000. He received his M.A. in Near Eastern Studies, with a specialization in Islamic Studies, and his M.S. in Communications from Cornell University. He also holds a B.A. in English Literature and Rhetoric from Binghamton University. In addition to his academic training in Islamic studies, he has also studied Islam from a traditional, normative perspective. He spent considerable time throughout his undergraduate and graduate career studying several classical Islamic sciences with traditional ulama from Pakistan, Turkey, and the United States.
Leenah Safi
Assistant Muslim Chaplain at Yale UniversityLeenah Safi grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and graduated from Zaytuna College in Berkeley, CA with a B.A. in Islamic Law and Theology in 2014. She went on to complete a Master of Divinity (MDiv.) degree in Interreligious Engagement and Chaplaincy Studies at Chicago Theological Seminary in 2018. She has worked as a college chaplain with the Felicity Foundation at the University of Michigan and Wayne State and taught with a variety of Muslim community organizations on subjects such as purification of the heart, early women in Islam, and convert care. Leenah is active in the fields of pastoral care and practical theology as a part of her PhD work at Chicago Theological Seminary, where she is working on a dissertation entitled: “Shūrā: A Practice of Relational Care in the Formation of Muslim Selves.” She recently joined Yale University's Chaplain Office as an Assistant Muslim chaplain.
Imam Dawood Yasin
Imam at the Islamic Center of Greater AustinImam Dawood Yasin is the Director of Student Life and Center for Ethical Living and Learning at Zaytuna College. His field specialties include Arabic, Community Studies, and Ethical Living and Learning. At Zaytuna College, Imam Dawood has taught all levels of Arabic, leads the Experiential Learning Program, and teaches archery. Prior to his post at Zaytuna College, Imam Dawood served as Muslim Life and Service-Learning Coordinator at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. He previously served as Director of Outreach Affairs at Zayed Center for Islamic Culture in the United Arab Emirates and as an Arabic language teaching assistant at Yale University.

- Visit the Meaningful Hajj / ICNYU Umrah webpage and complete the registration form.
2. Pay Your Deposit
There are three ways you can pay your Umrah deposit:.
- Zelle the amount to MeaningfulHajj@gmail.com
- On the Meaningful Hajj / ICNYU Umrah webpage, enter your bank routing number and account numberin the comments field of the form and indicate the amount you want us to charge. This method is good for people with a lower Zelle limit,
- Use the payment link on page to pay by credit card. There will be a 3% credit card processing fee added (this method is not recommended).
