The Islamic Center at NYU will be hosting a winter ziyarat to Iraq in 2022-23 with Shaykh Faiyaz Jaffer on December 22nd - January 2nd, insha' Allah.

Ziyarat (زيارة) is a visitation to the mausoleums of the family of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and is amongst the most commendable actions and rites within Islamic tradition. Numerous ahadith from the Prophet (ﷺ) and his family (a) speak to the unique reward and blessing one receives upon making ziyarat to the infallible personalities from the Ahlul Bayt (a).

Join Sheikh Faiyaz as he leads a group of students and young professionals to visit the shrines of the Imams in Iraq. Amongst the sites visited will include:

• Imam Ali (a) in Najaf

• Imam Husayn (a) in Karbala

• Imam al-Kadhim (a) and Imam Jawad (a) in Khadimiya

• Imam al-Hadi (a) and Imam Hassan al-Askari (a) in Samarrah

• Shrines of Prophets Adam (a), Noah (a), Hud (a), Saleh (a), and Ayoub (a)

• Grand Mosques of Kufa & Sahla

• Other historical and religious sites
