Exegesis of the Holy Quran
Timings: Thursdays at the IC
6:30pm - Maghrib
Class Description: Alongside teaching the methodology of making tafseer (exegesis) of the Qur'an, the class will provide members with practice by learning self-skills to demonstrate the Tafseer of certain verses (ayaat) of the Qur'an, especially those which are more related to the fundamentals of tenets of Islamic tradition. This class encourages attendants to engage themselves with the Qur'an, to make them feel that the Qur'an is within their reach and that they can communicate with the Qur'an.
Instructor: Dr. Ali Mermer holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from the University of Durham, UK. He is currently the Islamic Chaplain at Queens College and has helped facilitate the development of Quranic study groups at various universities for many years.
